I turned the BIG 5-0 this weekend! Despite the number, I am thankful to celebrate another year.
Thank you mom for the card that had this: Alexander Pope once wrote "count each birthday with a grateful mind." Birthday candles are sparkling reminders to count each happy celebration with a grateful heart. Blowing another candle means I'm being given the blessing of another year and the opportunity to begin a new chapter in my life. Each birthday offers a fresh start, a new and beautiful way to cherish the joys of the past year, and a reminder to look forward to what God has planned for you in the year ahead.
Just like every day is a gift (that why we call it "the present") Birthdays are a gift, and another candle is truly a blessing.
